The Police have been awarded six Grammy awards, an MTV Music Video Award and two Brit Awards including best band. The Police have sold over 75 million albums making them one of the best selling artists of all time. The Police disbanded in 1986 and then reunited in 2007 for a tour that lasted until 2008 making them the highest earning musicians in 2008. The album sold over 8 million copies and featured their biggest hit “Every Breath You Take”.

Their final album, Synchronicity, was released in 1983 and was a number one album in the UK, Italy, the US, Australia and Canada. Their second album, Reggatta de Blanc, was released in 1979 and became number one in the UK and Australia thanks to the singles “Message In A Bottle” and “Walk On The Moon”. They released their first album, Outlandos D’Amour in 1978 which featured the singles “Can’t Stand Losing You” and “Roxane” and reached number six on the UK charts. The Police gained popularity in the late 70s in the British New Wave music scene.

The Police was an English rock band formed in 1977 in London by drummer Stewart Copeland after he exchanged numbers with bassist/vocalist Sting.
